Company Description

Zymeworks is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of next-generation bispecific and multifunctional biotherapeutics, initially focused on the treatment of cancer. Zymeworks’ suite of complementary therapeutic platforms and its fully-integrated drug development engine provide the flexibility and compatibility to precisely engineer and develop highly-differentiated product candidates.

As a condition of employment, Zymeworks requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide verification of such.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with the Office Manager to help with the organization and running of the daily administrative operations for all Zymeworks’ offices.
  • Provides front-desk reception, welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or over the telephone, answers or refers inquiries.
  • Maintains security by following procedures, monitors sign-in log and issues visitor access badges.
  • Sends and receives courier packages and either delivers items or ensures receiving parties are notified accordingly.
  • Opens mail correspondence in accordance with standard operating procedures, date stamps and delivers mail to staff. Receives out-going mail, assigns postage and posts mail at the end of each business day.
  • Coordinates the company’s shared internal resources, including boardroom and meeting room bookings. Monitors and ensures users do not surpass scheduled time when there are subsequent bookings.
  • Coordinates catering for meetings, in accordance with standard operating procedures and with established catering providers. Provides set-up and take down/clean-up services.
  • Monitors and ensures reception area is kept tidy and projects a business-like image.
  • Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the office environment, kitchens, stationary rooms and meeting rooms.
  • Orders, maintains and ensures inventory of kitchen supplies, snacks and office supplies, and places orders as required.
  • Monitors JIRA tickets and completes tasks as assigned.
  • Submits service tickets to the building operator as required.
  • Prepares monthly credit card reconciliation for corporate credit card and PO’s as required.
  • Fosters effective and collaborative working relationships with fellow employees, management and external associates.
  • First Aid Attendant for site.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma and 2 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • First aid certificate from an accredited institution (not essential).
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and to establish maintain effective working relationships with employees, management and external associates.
  • Strong work ethic and friendly, positive, “can-do” attitude is an absolute must!
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proactive, problem solving approach. Demonstrates initiative and ability to make thoughtful timely decisions.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills. Results-oriented. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Tactful, sensitive, discrete, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Fluency in English, excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, primarily Excel and Word.
